On the last few days of every December, I look back at past blog entries and photographs, and reflect upon what the year has meant for us.

We ended 2013 by looking towards 2014, filled with hope for a happy and healthy new year. We were excited to be starting IVF again (I know right, excited about doing IVF?!) and shared with all and sundry about our plans to try for a third child.

2014 had barely gotten going when Life threw a spanner in the works, starting with that dratted first seizure in February. So much for a healthy year, huh. The months that followed were dotted with appointments with neurologists at different hospitals, IVF specialists, gynaecologists, TCM doctors, health screenings and brain scans. I asked every doctor what all this meant to our plans to conceive again. Every doctor either told me to seek advice from another doctor – or to put our baby-making plans on hold. It was a rather dark period of feeling lost and awfully helpless.

Nonetheless, despite things not working out in the health department, 2014 was not without its many happy moments.

For one, the girls have grown so much and are such a joy to be with. True, each day is not without its tiring and frustrating moments, but their hugs, kisses and sweet utterances of “I love you, mummy”, and the funny little things that they say are enough to turn me into goo and give me permanent amnesia of their wrongdoings.

Bubsigirls & Bubs, Christmas 2014

The funny thing is: poor health did bless us with the most unexpected surprise EVER – even if that’s just according to Dannie (who would be very pleased that the term CoughSexTM has made mention on Bubsicles. Can the rest of us say LaughCringeTM?)

Yes, I am happy to wrap up 2014 by announcing that come June 2015, we will welcome our third little girl into lives – making us a family of 5. The good news also is that since the pregnancy, I’ve not suffered any seizures.

May 2015 be the year where we can finally say “Goodbye Epilepsy (seizures be gone, damnit!) and Hello Baby”.
